Wayanad

Wayanad, the land of paddy fields rests in a quaint mountain plateau of the Western Ghats. Sliced out from Kannur and Khozikode district of Kerela , Wayanad is blessed with misty hills, dense forests, sleepy lakes and numerous waterfalls. The lush green jungles of Wayanad are home to many rare wild life species. Wayanad is the major producer of coffee, tea, rubber, vanilla and spices. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary
Wayanad Wild life sanctuary borders Nagarhole and Bandipore in Karnataka and Madumalai in Tamil Nadu. The Sanctuary was established in year in 1973 with the objective of protecting the rich biological heritage (Flaura and Fauna) of the region.

Chethalayam Falls
Chethalayam are the smallest waterfalls of Wayanad. The lush green surroundings offer an ideal location for bird watching and trekking.

Banasura Dam
Located at a distance of 15kms northeast of Kalpeta, Bansura is the largest earth dam in India and second largest in Asia. Banasura abounds the wonderful treks to Binsar peak.

Sentil Rock Waterfalls
Locally known as Soochiparra, the roaring Sentil waterfalls tumble down from the height of 200mts. The region is surrounded with steep hills and dense forests. Sentil waterfalls remain a popular spot for adventure activities such as rock climbing and trekking.

Glass Temple
Standing on the slopes of Vellarimala is the famous glass temple dedicated to the Jain Guru Parshwanatha Swami. The mirror-studded walls of the temple reflect the images of the icons in an infinite series.
