Nainital

Situated around the sparkling Naini Lake, Nainital is blessed with dense green hills, gigantic mountains and chains of lakes( Bhim tal, Sat Tal, Garun Tal) spread across the boundaries of this hill station. Nainital is known for its Naini Devi Temple, Naini Peak, Dorothy Seat and St John Church. The Mall Road running along the Naini Lake is stuffed with many big and small shops selling the handloom products and wax candles available in many vibrating colors and enchanting designs.

Places of Interest

Naini Lake
Also known as, Trishi Lake, Naini Lake is located in the heart of Nainital. The splendid lake is surrounded with verdant hills embellished with vibrant cottages and huts. The Mall road that surrounds the Naini Lake is dotted with countless shops selling woolen wear, beautiful wax candles and other artifacts.

Naina Peak
Locally referred as Cheena peak, this verdant hill offers spectacular views of snow draped Himalayan ranges and captivating Nainital valley.

St John Church
Built in 1847 by britishers, St John’s Church stands in the north end of town (Mallital). It is one of the oldest buildings of Nainital. The church houses a brass memorial kept in the memory of victims of landslide of 1880.

Hanuman Garhi
Established by Baba Neem Kiroli, Hanuman Garhi is a famous pilgrimage center of Hindus. It is situated at a height of 1951 meters. The place houses a beautiful Hanuman Mandir. Hanuman Garhi offers splendid sunrise and sunset views.

Nanital is well connected with all major cities via extensive network of roads. The nearest bus stand is at Tallital.

By Rail
The nearest railway station is at Kathgodam (35kms) that connect Nanital to all-important cities such as Delhi, Chandigarh, Almora, Dehradun and Ranikhet.
