Mussoorie

Captain Young, an adventurous military officer discovered Mussoorie in 1827. Regarded as the Queen of Hills, Mussoorie magnetizes with its serene environs and excellent weather. This magnificent hill station is studded with many picnic spots and offers brilliant trekking opportunities to avid trekkers. The major places of interest are Kempty Falls, Bhatta Falls, Lal Tibba, Pari Tibba and Camel’s Back Hill from where you can get the splendid views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks. Take an evening stroll at Kulri bazaar where you can shop for hand knitted sweaters, stalls and mouth-watering homemade cakes and cookies.

Kempty Falls
Tumbling down from a lofty hill in to a deep pool, Kempty falls offer breathtaking views of the lush geen hills and the tiny Mussoorie. A narrow snaking stairs lead you to the plunge pool. John Mekinan developed Kempty Fall as a major tourist attraction of Mussoorie.

Gun Hill
Gun Hill is the second highest peak of Mussoorie. During colonial rule, a gun was mounted on the top of this hill. The gun was fired everyday at midday to enable people to adjust their watches accordingly. Take a thrilling ropeway ride to the Gun hill. You can also walk to the hill that takes about 20 mintues. Gun hill offers spectacular views of the snow topped Himalayan ranges such as Srikantha, Pathwara, and Banderpunch and Gangotri group.

St George Everest House
St Geroge Everest, the first surveyor general of India had his residence and office in the park estate, which still stands here. Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world was named after him. Located at a distance of 6 kms from the town, the St George Everest House is surrounded with snow topped Himalayan ranges and the dense deodar forest.

Cloud’s End
The Cloud’s Ends is a bungalow built by a britisher major in the year 1838. The Bangalow has now been converted to a hotel named Cloud’s End. The place is surrounded with thick dense pine and deodar forest and offers panoramic views of the snow clad Himalayas and the sparkling yamuna river.
