KalimpongTucked between Siliguri and Gangtok is the unexplored hill station of West Bengal, Kalimpong. The town is situated at a height of 1250 m from the sea level. Rinkingpong Hill Locally known as Durpan Dara (Binocular bridge), the hill offers picturesque views of snow clad mountains. One needs to take the permission to visit the Ringkingpong Hill as it is under the control of Indian Army.
Tharpa Choling Gompa Gelukpa , the yellow hat sect of Tibetan Buddhist to which Dalai Lama Belongs established this Monastery in 1922. The Gompa walls are decorated with beautiful thangkas paintings.
Dr Graham's House
Founded by a Scotsman, Dr John Anderson Graham in 1900 was the home for six orphan kids. Situated in the foothills of Deoli Hills, the school today comprises of about fifty cottages and has children from almost every part of the country belonging to various religions. Tenth Mile, the main market area of Kalimpong is the best place for shopping. Cheap and good quality Silk Brocade, Tibetan cloth and silver jewelry are available in all the local shops in Kalimpong.
